Sailing in Belize

Charter a catamaran from Placencia for a truly unforgettable Caribbean sailing holiday. From Placencia sail north along the reef which offers protection from ocean swells. Navigating is easy but keep an eye out for shallow water and coral.

Some nights cook onboard, some nights eat delicious seafood dinners in the restaurants along the way. Enjoy the peaceful kayak across the deep blue waters of Lagoon Caye and spot rare birds in the mangroves or enjoy first class snorkelling in Hideaway Caye. Whatever you do, relax, life is pretty laid back here.

Temperatures in Belize are around 30°C all year with short tropical rain showers, especially July to October. Trade winds at 20-25 knots during the peak winter months, north-easterly and lighter in the summer.

Experience level 2 - take care with shallow coral.

"Our whole time in the Grenadines could not have been better. After two days on Bequia visiting friends, a brilliant four to five hour sail with a perfect wind took us down to Salt Whistle Bay on the island of Mayreau. A very busy anchorage where locals acted as parking attendants to squeeze in as many boats as possible to maximize customers for their shore barbeque where they fed us an excellent dinner. The following morning we did the very short passage round to the Tobago Cays. There followed two nights of gorgeous weather, lovely snorkelling with turtles cruising about everywhere and lobster dinners ashore. Could not have been better. "
