Sailing in Tahiti

Yachts and catamarans are based on the island of Raiatea (40 minutes flights from Tahiti).  The islands are all within easy sailing distance, leaving you plenty of time to explore lagoons and beaches and discover the friendly character of these exotic islands.

Best time to travel is May to October, the dry season, when temperatures range from 25-30oC and the constant south-easterly tradewinds blow at 15-20 knots. From November to March there are more variable winds.

Experience level 2-3 depending on itinerary.

"We had a fantastic time with Peter at Rock Sailing in Gibraltar. Many thanks for organising the course for us. Peter was an excellent teacher and looked after us with great food on board too! While storms raged in the Straights for our first two days, we learnt a great deal about all aspects of yacht safety in the relatively calm Marina. By Wednesday our crew of 4 were eager to set sail and that afternoon we were on our way to Ceuta in a force 6-7, making good headway at an average 11knots. What a privilege! The next three days were filled with great sailing, dolphins, and good company. We will certainly recommend you and Rock Sailing in the future and we are very much looking forward to our flotilla holiday with you in May."
