Sailing holidays in Mallorca
Mallorca has ideal conditions for a sailing holiday with steady afternoon breezes from the north Force 3-5. Stronger mistral winds can blow from the north-west for a few days. The passages between the Balearic islands are more exposed. Summer temperatures average 26-30ºC.
With over 200 miles of stunning coastline and cruising itineraries to suit most sailors, Majorca is a great choice for a bareboat yacht charter. Families and less experienced crews can enjoy a relaxed sailing holiday visiting the many sheltered bays on the south and east coast.
Keen sailors can plan a more ambitious sailing itinerary around the island including the dramatic west coast with stunning cliffs and the beautiful bays in the north. Visit the busy fishing harbours of Andratx, Soller and Pollensa.
For a 2-week yacht charter holiday experienced skippers can sail to Ibiza and Formentera, 45 miles to the south or Menorca, 27 miles to the north-east, with its busy harbourfront and quiet anchorages. The passages between the Balearic islands are more exposed so are for more experienced skippers only.
Marinas in Mallorca can be pricey - expect to pay £60-100/night depending on location and the size of your yacht - but you can also anchor in the protected calas (bays).
