Sailing in Seychelles

Yachts and catamarans are available from Praslin and Mahe, or one-way between the two islands. Within a 30-mile radius you have trouble-free sailing conditions between the inner islands.  With longer passages between the main islands, this area is more suited to experienced sailors but the inner islands form a protected cruising area. Care must be taken of shallow coral reefs.

On a 1 week sailing itinerary you can explore the islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue to the north-west of Mahe. In 2 weeks explore islands to the north-east of Mahe, including Silhouette. Your sailing itinerary will vary slightly depending on the season

The Seychelles offer ideal sailing conditions throughout the year but there are 2 distinct seasons.  From November to April north-westerly trade winds blow around 10 knots with calm seas but it generally feels more hot and humid. The wet season is December to February. From May to October the dry southeast tradewinds give cooler temperatures and a constant 20 knot winds.

"(Letter to the Azulia crew) Now that we are home again and have time to reflect on our week with you on Azulia, I just wanted to thank you both for your wonderful help in the total enjoyment of our week. We loved everything about the boat and the care you gave us. The meals were memorable, delicious and varied. It is wonderful to have such fresh and imaginative salads everyday when at sea! We loved the quiet bays, the snorkelling and swimming. It did us both a lot of good and we are so pleased to have had such a great experience on your lovely boat. Thank you for organising the lovely lobster supper and champagnešŸ„‚ to welcome my husband into his 78th year! All in all it was a superb week!"
