The yacht

Luxury 48’ cruising yacht for up to 4 guests, with professional skipper and cook/hostess offering a high standard of discrete service. Amokura is not like other cruising yachts. She is a 48’ Wauquiez custom built to cruise self-sufficiently around-the-world in complete luxury. With superb boat handling, she is fast, stable and sea worthy. Amokura can be enjoyed by sailors and non-sailors alike. Ropes run under the deck, electric winches and sailing gear are kept inside the cockpit so you can safely use the deck spaces for sunbathing or enjoy the experience of helming this fast and exciting yacht.

Your skipper Mark Hamilton is an RYA UK sailing school Principal. He has over twenty-five years sailing experience and is a commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster Instructor. He sails in a relaxed and informal style, and has cruised extensively.

Arriving somewhere by boat is a unique experience – suddenly you are not a tourist, you’re a traveller – and you’ll see a place from a completely different perspective. Quite simply, you are free to discover secluded coves and pristine beaches, local waterside tavernas and hidden beach bars, ancient ruins and interesting old towns and ports. Sardinia’s clear waters are also perfect for just anchoring on a whim, swimming and snorkelling…before a perfectly chilled drink.

Cruising area:  

Sardinia is one of the world’s best sailing destinations and just 2 hours flying from the UK. There are direct flights (including easyJet) from many regional UK airports. Olbia in north east Sardinia is just 20 minutes from Portisco, where Amokura is moored. Sardinia is a sophisticated Italian island, west of mainland Italy and 10 miles south of Corsica. With over 1000 miles of unspoilt coastline, it is renowned for secluded beautiful beaches, translucent azure blue sea and fascinating rock formations. Explore the islands and the national marine park of La Maddalena. The skipper will design an itinerary perfectly tailored to you.

Accommodation: 

2 double cabins with 2 bathrooms, both with electric heads and separate power showers. Suitable for families, couples and friends. Children are welcome.

Sports & leisure: 

Air conditioning, TV, DVD, music system, high powered RIB, snorkelling gear, fishing tackle, inflatable kayak, boat BBQ, dinghy, underwater camera, fitted deck cushions for sunbathing, bimini/sunshade, teak decks, fresh water maker and freezer – perfect for making ice cubes.

Availability:

Amokura will be in Sardinia from end of June to mid September 2012.  Amokura is available for 7 night charters. Please call to discuss availability for your preferred dates.

Charter rate:

The 2012 charter rate of Amokura is £7,455/week  and includes the following
