Yacht Charter & Sailing Holidays in Naples (2024)

A Naples bareboat yacht charter around the Amalfi coast is one of the most celebrated stretches of coastline with dramatic cliffs and pastel coloured villages cascading down the mountainside. Trailing bouganvillea and the smell of lemon groves add to the charm. Within the Gulf of Naples visit the islands of Ischia, Procida and Vivara and you can't miss the the achingly stylish Capri. There are no shortage of stunningly beautiful anchorages along the Amalfi coastline, such as Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi. For a more 'back to basics' feel explore the coastline south of Salerno, where there are many unspoilt fishing harbours.

With daily flights to Naples you could have a few days shorebased before or after your yacht charter to visit the outstanding Roman ruins at Pompeii and Herculaneum, easily reached by train from Naples. Take some time to explore the bustling city of Naples with all of its raw charm and of course to feast in the birth place of pizza!

Explore the glamorous Amalfi coast or the less discovered Gulf of Salerno.

Suggested Sailing Itineraries

DAY 1 : Marina Sud Cantiere

Embark at Marina Sud Cantiere, an easy 25 minute transfer from Naples Airport. A small supermarket is only 100m away and a superstore a short taxi ride away.

 DAY 2 : Procida (8nm)

Take a leisurely sail over to Procida, the smallest island in the bay. In the peak of summer, 'in the know' Italians flock to its shores but outside of this time you find a refreshingly real and authentic Italian town. Simple island living at its best. Wander the small, colourful streets before sailing round to Vivara. Vivara is connected to Procida by a bridge and is a nature reserve which is home to rare plants, rabbits and birds. Check online for opening hours prior to your visit.

 DAY 3 : Ischia (6nm)

From the smallest to the largest island in the bay, Ischia is a popular coastal destination. Take the time to explore the island's 34km of volcanic coastline and hidden coves. Head ashore for thermal spas, mountains and beautiful views of Capri.

 DAY 4 : Capri (19nm)

A lovely sail across the bay today brings you to the infamous chic island of Capri. Visit the Blue Grotto or take the Monte Solaro chair lift for spectacular views right across the bay. Wander the small streets, filled to the brim with boutique and designer shops or head to Marina Piccola for great views of the Faraglioni, Capri's legendary trio of sea giants.

 DAY 5 : Positano (16nm)

The jewel of the Amalfi Coast, Positano will entice you with her terracotta buildings tumbling their way down the hillside, steep and steep, narrow streets backed by the verdant green Monti Lattari. Walking around Positano, the town's rich history is palpable. The ruins of grand Roman villas, the prominent Church of Santa Maria Assunta which dates back to the 11th century, fortified walls and looming watch towers all give a little insight into that which came before. Enjoy weaving your way through the quaint little streets stopping for a Delizia al Limone at Zagara.

 DAY 6 : Sorrento (19nm)

The gateway to the Amalfi Coast and with all the authentic Italian charm of this beautiful region. This is the land of lemons, olives, cobbled streets and tumbling wisteria. You can also find some fantastic walking routes in this area - the ancient donkey trails which used to be the only connection between the villages are still intact and great for exploring on foot.

 DAY 7 : Marina Sud Cantiere (25nm)

A final day's sail brings you back to Naples and Marina Sud Cantiere. Enjoy your final evening soaking up the atmosphere and feasting on some real and authentic pizza after a week of sailing one of the most beautiful and iconic coastlines.
