Zlatni Rat, often referred to as the Golden Horn, is situated to the west of the harbour town of Bol on the Southern coast of the Croatian Island of Brač. This beach doesn't just appeal to sun-seekers, it is also perfect for a multitude of watersports, including windsurfing and kitesurfing, due to the Maestral winds. There are two restaurants just steps away from the beach, where you can sample local specialities and the remnants of an ancient Roman Villa Rustica to discover.
Lesser known than Zlanti Rat, Lovrečina Bay is a beach set in a lush forested bay. Situated between Postira and Pučišće on the northern part of the island of Brač, Croatia, it boasts a beautiful sandy beach and hidden archaeological treasures. After a morning of soaking up the sun, go for a hike to explore the remains of the 6th-century St. Lawrence basilica or take a walk along the 4km trail from Lovrecina to Postira.
Frequently ranked as one of Europe's most beautiful beaches, with its towering white cliffs and vivid blue waters, it is a remote, hidden gem on the southwestern coast of Lefkada, Greece. An oasis away from the other, more touristy spots in Lefkada, it is perfect for those looking for a more tranquil beach experience. It has waters so unbelievably blue and soft, crystal-like 'sand', it is often compared to the Caribbean.
Taking its name from the ancient fortress at the Monastery of the Virgin Mary, Paleokastritsa beach is situated on Corfu's west coast. Surrounded by scenic olive groves, it is perfect for an afternoon stroll before watching the sunset from the terrace of a waterfront bar. Consisting of 6 different shores, ranging from white sands to pebble, there are plenty of opportunities for kayaking and paddleboarding, as well as renting a sunbed and taking a moment to completely relax.
Famously known as 'Shipwreck Beach', it is the most popular destination in Zakynthos, and its image can be seen on many postcards and souvenirs, and for good reason. Originally called Agios Georgios, it acquired its new name from a shipwreck that washed ashore in the 1980s, now rusted and claimed by the sands; it provides a dramatic backdrop to this secluded beach. It should be noted that it can only be reached by sea, and during high season, the shores can get quite busy.
Situated in the southwest of La Digue, Anse Source d'Argent is one of the most photographed beaches in the world. Famous for its giant granite boulders, white sands, and sparkling emerald waters, it is a quintessential paradise. To avoid the main crowds, we recommend visiting early in the morning or near sunset.
On the northwest tip of Praslin, this picture-perfect haven features long white sandy beaches, great waves, and a dense fringe of palm trees for those seeking shade. Amongst the rockier parts, you will find some great snorkelling opportunities and may even see a turtle or a friendly ray!
One of the most vibrant and lively beaches in the Seychelles, Beau Vallon offers more than just sunbathing, with a myriad of activities on offer. The safe, shallow waters make this ideal for those with younger sailors, and the conditions are perfect for snorkelling and exploring the abundant marine life. Once the sun has set, go to Beach Shak for authentic local food, live music, and good times.
Explore the uninhabited tropical paradise of Tobago Cays, which contains several reefs teeming with marine life. Once ashore, there are even more natural delights to uncover, from stunning tropical birds to majestic iguanas. Though there are no formal restaurants on the island, there are several beach BBQs in the marine park, where you can sample the authentic, tantalising flavours of the Caribbean.
This exclusive island, often called 'Billionaire's Island', and home to the rich and famous, features some of the most interesting terrain in the Caribbean. The rugged terrain of North Point and Rutland Bay contrasts with the beautiful white sands of Macaroni Beach on the east side. For nearly 50 years, Basil's Bar has been the cultural beating heart of the island, whether you are looking to sample the local cuisine, sip cocktails as the sun sets, or dance the night away.
