Explore the Croatia coast with the help & advice from the lead crew.

Great fun for couples, friends & families!

To charter a yacht bareboat or on flotilla you should be Day Skipper standard and be assisted by at least one competent crew.

At present you need an RYA Day Skipper qualification or RYA International Certificate of Competence (ICC) for charters in Croatia.

The RYA ICC will be ever more required by overseas port authorities but if you have skipper experience it is easily obtained in a day from RYA sailing schools in the UK such as Hamilton Sailing or Brixham Sea School

Whether you are an experienced sailor or setting foot on a yacht for the first time, we can offer you a holiday afloat to suit you. We have given all the sailing areas a level with 'Experience Level 1' suitable for less experienced crews and 'Experience Level 3' for the experts.

This takes into account the wind strength, tidal range and currents, distances between stops and ease of mooring. Of course even experts may choose to sail in Level 1 areas as they still offer stunning scenery and great sailing.

Experience Level 1: Split & Kornati

Generally light winds Force 2-4, line of sight navigation, shorter sailing distances under 20nm. You will be Day Skipper standard having sailed at least 1 week or 100nm as skipper.

Experience Level 2: Pula & Dubrovnik

Stronger winds up to Force 3-5 with some longer passages up to 30nm. You will be Day Skipper standard having sailed at least 2 weeks or 200nm as skipper.

Experience Level 3:

Stronger winds up to Force 4-7 which can lead to bigger seas on long passages between the islands. You will be Coastal Skipper standard with experience to a higher level having sailed at least 4 weeks or 400nm as skipper.

Sailing holidays in CroatiaKorcula town is a spectacular mini-fortress. Nicknamed ‘Little Dubrovnik’, it’s a jumble of red-tiled roofs and medieval cobbled streets. Visit the house where Marco Polo was born and the ornate cathedral of St Mark. The waterfront has flashy bars and restaurants, but down the side streets of the Old Town you'll find a timeless quality well worth exploring.

Sailing holidays in CroatiaThe Krka Falls are well worth a detour inland. Sail up the Krka river to the small marina at Skradin and take a bot trip further upstream. There are seven waterfalls in all  with a total drop of 242 metres. You can swim in the ice cold pool the falls have worn into the river bed, or if you don't fancy getting wet, just climb the path to the side of the falls and admire the view.

Sailing holidays in CroatiaKornati is an archipelago of 125 islets and reefs forming an elongated wall of sheer cliffs facing the open sea. Most of the islets in the archipelago are uninhabited. Many of the reefs and cliffs on Kornati are nameless, but some have unusual names that match their appearance: Klobuńćar (jellyfish), Balun (ball), Košara (basket), Mrtvac (dead man).

Flotillas in Croatia

An ideal mix between sailing your own yacht and having the support and advice of the lead crew to make the most of your holiday.

In Croatia you will need your RYA qualification, either Day Skipper Practical or ICC. If it's your first sailing trip to Croatia you will appreciate the help and advice from the flotilla skippers and enjoy the company of other yachts.  It's a popular choice for couples, friends and families. During the school holidays there are usually other families in the flotillas so it's fun for the kids as well.

The itineraries are arranged so that you visit the best places but there is always the opportunity for free sailing. Stop for a lunchtime swim and picnic in a beautiful bay. Enjoy great sailing in the afternoon breeze. In the evenings you will moor up in harbours and marinas. Marinas in Croatia offer some of the best facilities in the Mediterranean and there are laid moorings on most quays and mooring buoys in many locations. There are however harbour and mooring charges - expect to pay about £1.50/foot/night

Flotillas in Croatia

The Trogir Flotilla offers a choice of 1-week itineraries, north or south, or combine the two for a fabulous 2-week holiday visiting the scenic coastline and offshore islands of the Dalmatia coast. If you are looking for a sailing holiday that combines some stunning scenery with superb sailing breezes then look no further!

The Dubrovnik Flotilla explores the beautiful southern Dalmatian islands of Mljet, Lastovo and Korcula await, all offering some fantastic harbours and anchorages. The 1 week itinerary starts from the ACI Marina in Dubrovnik, a great place from which to start your flotilla holiday.
