BACK
Boarding starts at 18:00 on Saturday and so we have a lovely relaxed dinner onboard and a night in the marina getting to know your fellow sailors.
The first day of sailing! Leaving the marina after breakfast we make our way to Jost Van Dyke - the smallest of the main islands but what it lacks in size it certainly makes up for in atmosphere! Our first stop is White Bay for lunch and a visit to the Soggy Dollar Bar. Late afternoon we head to Great Harbour for dinner and an option to go to Foxys for evening cocktails. The infamous Foxy's and Soggy Dollar Bar are great fun both day and night with live music and a relaxed party atmosphere. If you get the chance, take a walk up into the hills above Great Harbour for some fantastic views.
After breakfast we depart Great Harbour and head to Sandy Cay for a morning of snorkelling, relaxing on the beach and watersports. After lunch onboard there is the option to dinghy ashore to explore Sandy Cay, a national park donated to the BVI's in 2008 by the Rockefeller family. Enjoy a beautiful short trail through the island. In the afternoon we sail to Norman Island to visit the Treasure Point sea caves before continuing on to Benures Bay on Norman Island for a quiet evening under the stars - a great spot for paddle boarding and watersports.
We leave Benures Bay after breakfast and head to the Indians where you can enjoy snorkelling in crystal clear waters. We continue our sail to Deadmans Bay on Peter Island for lunch, watersports and beach time. Late afternoon we will either take the short sail round to Great Harbour on Peter Island or decide to enjoy an evening on Cooper Island.
This morning we head to the Baths Marine Park on Virgin Gorda. This National Park is comprised of huge granite boulders which form little pools of sea water on the edge of the beach. Meandering and climbing your way through these natural wonders is a great way to spend a few hours working up an appetite before lunch. There is a restaurant and bar at the top of The Baths and a beautiful, scenic walk down to Devil's Bay. In the afternoon we sail into the North Sound and anchor between Prickly Pear and Eustatia for snorkelling and a quiet evening.
Be prepared to enter heaven! Anegada, the only coral island in the BVI, is a haven for nature lovers with its flamingos, iguanas and exotic birds. With pristine beaches, incredibly clear turquoise waters and fantastic snorkelling, you are unlikely to want to leave! Here you have the option to rent Jeeps and explore the island followed by a lobster dinner - almost compulsory when visiting Anegada! [excursion - additional fees apply].
Leaving the idyllic Anegada we head to Monkey Point on Guana island for snorkelling and lunch. It is described as one of the best snorkelling spots on the island with plenty of turtles and schools of fish very close to the shore. We will spend some time at the beautiful White Bay beach in the afternoon, paddleboarding and kayaking, before a sail to Marina Cay shortly before sunset. Evening at Marina Cay.
It is only a short sail back to the base in time for the 09:00 disembarkation. Once back on Tortola you might like to explore Road Town or jump in a taxi to the popular Cane Garden Bay.
